Wood County Sheriff’s Report
October 5
Cpl. Baldwin, theft, FM 778; someone stole golf cart charger from carport, did not have serial numbers, wanted incident documented.
Sgt. Cox, warrant service at adult probation. Dylon Nichols, 19, Leesburg arrested for outstanding warrant.
Deputy Way and Cpl. Mayer, theft, County Road 2745; someone took multiple tools from shop and watch from residence, did not have serial numbers, case forwarded to investigations.
October 6
Deputy Rapp, criminal mischief, FM 515; employee stated someone jumped fence, messed with items, did not have any suspects.
Deputy Rapp, theft, County Road 2482; homeowner paid contractor to do work, had not completed entire job, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Rapp, theft, County Road 1343; someone had stolen truck and trailer from residence, trailer later located, truck entered as stolen, case forwarded to investigations.
October 7
Sgt. Williams, criminal mischief, County Road 4287; someone staying with caller, while they were gone from residence, friend used vehicle without permission, homeowner wished to have person trespassed from property.
Deputy Gould, disturbance, County Road 2503; caller and nephew got into argument, nephew threw hammer, breaking window. Caller did not wish to pursue charges, advised of options.
Deputy Whisenhunt, burglary, FM 2869; when caller came to work, noticed multiple items missing, broken back window, suspect on camera entering building, taking items, case forwarded to investigations.
October 8
Sgt. Milbourn, traffic stop near Sheriff’s Office; observed vehicle attempt to flee, failed to use turn signal. Due to driver not complying, refusing consent to search, canine search performed. After positive alert, vehicle searched, marijuana roaches located. Ashley Burdett, 35, Quitman arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputy Croney, criminal trespass, County Road 1490; caller advised he thinks someone living in camper on property, wanted them removed, also found people stealing water from meter, case forwarded to investigations.
October 9
Deputy Croney, warrant service, County Road 1540. Tina Sherwood, 24, Alba arrested for outstanding warrant.
Cpl. Cooper, theft, Holly Lake Ranch; victim hired company to move to new residence, discovered safe had been tampered with during move, coins inside safe missing, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Burdick and Sgt. Williams, shots fired, County Road 3840; homeowner advised they found multiple bullet holes in side of residence, later discovered there was shooting near residence, no witnesses to shooting.
Sgt. Williams and Deputy Pollard, disturbance, Highway 80; suspect got into argument with girlfriend that never got physical, victim stated as she tried to leave residence, suspect hit her in face, had visible red marks. Ty Trull, 21, Mineola arrested for assault bodily injury family violence.
October 10
Deputy Rapp and Sergeant Cox, terroristic threat, County Road 4536; victim’s brother came over to mother’s house, began yelling, making threats, suspect prevented victim’s sister from calling 911, case forwarded to investigations.
Sgt. Cox, scam; victim found vehicle on Facebook Marketplace, seller told him to buy gift cards and give them numbers. Once victim provided numbers, seller quit making contact with victim, case forwarded to investigations.
October 11
Deputy Rapp, scam; caller had given contractor money to build building, has not completed full amount of work, had to hire new contractor to fix issues previous builder did not fix, case forwarded to investigations.
Deputy Gould, assault, County Road 4827; caller was sleeping on swing, woke up, noticed boyfriend either kicked her or caused her head to hit swing. Deputy observed caller to have abrasion on forehead, suspect advised he kicked swing, causing victim to hit head.
