Wood County Sheriff’s Report
August 23
Deputy Comeaux, suspicious person, CR 4631; male came to caller’s house asking for his wife, neither him knew the man, unable to locate subject.
Sgt. Mayer, theft, Lake Quitman; two females stole items from victim. Deputies located items, returned to owner.
Deputy Rapp, request to speak; caller’s ex sent video of herself he recorded without her permission, threatening to post online if she didn’t return item he thinks she stole, case forwarded to investigations.
August 24
Deputy Skinner, disturbance, Private Road 5750; suspect had left scene, neither party wished to pursue charges, female wanted male criminally trespassed from property.
Sgt. Mayer assisted Quitman PD on disturbance, suspect attempted to flee in vehicle. Deputies kept male on scene until Quitman PD took control.
Deputy Rapp, Jarvis, damaged property; neither subject wished to press charges due to both causing damage.
August 25
Cpl. Croney, criminal mischief; someone hit caller’s mailbox, caused damage to truck, did not wish to pursue charges.
Deputy Pollard, injury to child; mother stated daughter was injured by father at his house, did not wish to pursue charges, injuries appeared to be minor.
Deputies, welfare concern, Hwy. 515; caller’s brother went to meet friend, hadn’t returned in several hours. Deputies located male who was visiting friend, fell asleep.
August 26
Cpl. Croney, identity theft; victim received prepaid card in mail she didn’t order, incident report completed.
Cpl. Croney, theft; caller made agreement with someone to move camper, would receive payment afterward, suspect not wanting to pay for services, offense report completed.
Deputies, disturbance, Hwy. 80; victim had major injuries, suspect fled, located suspect who refused to comply. Harold Parker arrested for aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.
August 27
Sgt. Morrison, criminal mischief, Holiday Village; property owner ’s mailbox, pole struck by vehicle, causing damage. Deputies located suspect’s vehicle, offense report completed.
Deputy Pollard, Quitman ER, assault; two males, female assaulted victim with hammer, did not provide suspect information, did not wish to pursue charges.
Deputy Way, burglary of a vehicle, FM 14; abandoned vehicle broken into, suspect removed registration, vehicle owner notified, did not wish to pursue charges.
Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Croney, disturbance, CR 2276; victim’s ex-wife came to residence, struck him on head with fist. Deputies observed injury to victim, Meredith Sanders arrested for assault.
August 28
Deputies, suspicious person, CR 1670; property owner advised female sleeping in driveway. Deputies spoke with female who advised she did not have place to stay, deputies gave her ride to her job.
Deputy Kovic, illegal dumping, CR 3947; truck has been dumping tires on vacant lot, case forwarded to environmental officer.
Deputy Comeaux, suicidal subject; subject was elderly person with dementia, attempting to hurt herself, transported to receive treatment.
Sgt. Mayer, suspicious circumstance, FM 49; when caller and niece entered house, heard someone call niece’s name twice. Deputies searched area, did not locate anyone.
August 29
Deputies, theft, Hwy. 154; caller checked his property, observed items missing, will call back later.
Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Comeaux, suicidal subject; subject having mental crisis, deputies transported to receive treatment.
Cpl. Burdick, traffic stop, CR 2150; located small amount of narcotics, confiscated them.
