Sgt. Cox, theft of firearm; victim gave firearm to subject who was supposed to repair it, advised he threw firearm away. 

Deputy Way, possible venomous snake in residence; deputies located snake, removed from residence. 

Deputy Comeaux, welfare check; caller out of town, had not heard from grandmother, deputy located subject lying on floor, had suffered fall. EMS transported subject.

May 16

Sgt. Cox, Cpl. Rapp, welfare check; father threatened children over previous incident. On scene, deputies spoke with children who advised they had been threatened, oldest child had friend pick him up, found to have active warrant. Evan Dunkin arrested for outstanding warrant, deputies transported child to another friend’s residence. 

Deputies, warrant service, Quitman; subject with active warrants headed to restaurant. Michael Ferry arrested on outstanding warrants.

Deputy Haley, terroristic threat, FM 49; deputy spoke with caller who advised female made threatening post on Facebook not directed at caller, documented for future reference.

May 17 

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Croney, unresponsive subject; caller located uncle unresponsive on floor of the residence, deputies observed open front door, subject laying on ground. CID notified, autopsy ordered. 

Deputy Pollard, warrant service, Sheriff’s Office. Latoya English arrested for outstanding warrant.

Deputies, large fight, Lake Holbrook; fight already broken up, witnesses could only provide vehicle descriptions.

Deputy Williams, theft, FM 778; vacant house had items taken, neighbor saw male taking items, left after she spotted him, provided possible suspect’s identification, case forwarded to investigations.

May 18

Cpl. Croney, assault; victim’s boyfriend struck her in face multiple times, had laceration above eye, offense report completed.

Deputies, Lake Holbrook, jet ski struck pedestrians; two females in swimming area when jet ski came close, splashed them, jet ski left, returned, struck two swimmers, fled. Deputies located suspect who admitted striking two subjects, he was taken for blood draw, jet skis impounded.

Deputy Cato, disturbance, CR 3234; deputies located two highly intoxicated subjects with apparent injuries from altercation, neither party cooperated, deputies learned subjects often fight when intoxicated. Due to both parties having injuries and future event likely, Crystal and Douglas Hobbs arrested for assault.

Deputy Williams, shots fired, Holly Lake Ranch; victim advised walking down road, shot in face, deputies searched area to locate the victim’s belongings or where he was shot. CID notified, took over scene.

May 19

Deputy Cato, stranded motorist, FM 2869; observed passenger throw beer can out window, determined driver, passenger intoxicated. Melvin Langford and Daniel Bowen arrested for public intoxication, open container.

Deputy Williams, damaged property, FM 2869; someone operating tractor slung rocks onto windshield causing damage, victim provided tractor driver’s vehicle information, picture of tractor.

Deputy Williams, Deputy Rich, disturbance, Hwy. 80; male arrived at residence, turned off AC, parties began to argue, victim broke suspect’s watch when she grabbed his arm, suspect struck victim multiple times in face causing injuries, male took victim’s dog, left residence. Deputies unable to locate suspect, victim later advised suspect picked up by family, fled area, offense report completed. 

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Cato, welfare check, CR 2460; neighbor came to caller’s house offering money to stay there, advised someone following her on motorcycle, fled into the woods, subject would not come out of residence and speak to deputies, subject’s daughter contacted who advised she would speak to mother who has mental issues.

May 20

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Way, shots fired, Lake Holbrook; witnesses advised truck at beach area, occupants got into fight, as they were leaving fired several rounds, witnesses provided descriptions of suspect vehicles, case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Comeaux, theft, CR 4560; dirt bike stolen from residence, victim saw dirt bike matching theirs on Facebook Marketplace; case forwarded to investigations.

Deputy Way, complaint by phone; caller lives on private road with several others who share lake, has spill way on her property, she recently removed dirt to lower water level due to recent rain, neighbor coming onto her property, putting dirt back in spill way, caller was advised to contact TCEQ about who can change water level.

May 21

Sgt. Cox, warrant service, Adult Probation. Tracy Howard arrested for active warrant.

Deputy Skinner, traffic stop, CR 3473, while checking passengers, Joshua Rankin found to have active warrant, placed in custody.

Cpt. Chilson, Sgt. Sepulvado, Lake Holbrook, suspicious activity; multiple teenagers playing with firearm, deputies located subjects playing with BB gun, left scene shortly after contact.

Sgt. Cox, agency assist; trooper had brief struggle with subject, eventually arrested, transported to jail for resisting arrest.

Deputy Comeaux, theft, CR 4505; as male subject moved off property, observed weed eater on trailer, victim did not have serial number, suspect leaving to go to Oklahoma.
