June 12

Cpl. Rapp, Deputy Skinner, felon in possession of firearm; deputies located subject who had firearm. Thomas Linz arrested for unlawful possession of firearm by felon, possession of controlled substance.

Deputy Skinner, wounded dog, CR 2258; unable to locate dog owner, dog carried to Sheriff’s Office.

Cpl. Smith, terroristic threat; deputy observed text messages between two people about vehicle that had been loaned. No threats made through text, subjects advised it was civil issue.

June 13 

Cpl. Burdick, threat of damage; caller advised he was Realtor, person who had house foreclosed threatening property damage to him and new owners, caller advised to inform new home owners to criminally trespass man if he returns to property.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Comeaux, disturbance, FM 2088; one party had active bond conditions preventing him from being at residence. Joshua Lindley arrested for violation of bond conditions.

Sgt. Mayer, Cpl. Burdick, agency assist, Mineola; Mineola PD had missing person, going to check address in county, deputies located missing subject who advised she wanted to be on the property.

June 14

Deputy Williams, suspicious activity, FM 778; two subjects exited vehicle, walking around property, subject filed theft report previously, deputies did not locate anyone on property.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Williams, suspicious activity, Hawkins; victim advised someone trying to break into bedroom window, deputies searched area, did not locate signs of damage. 

Cpl. Croney, death investigation; caller found family friend deceased in residence, subject home alone due to family being out of town, no signs of foul play observed, autopsy ordered.

June 15

Cpl. Croney, cruelty to animal, Yantis; caller found deceased grandmother’s dog locked in barn deceased, deputies believed it had been there for extended period, incident report completed.

Sgt. Morrison, suspicious activity, FM 2869; subjects possibly taking items from residence where owner recently passed away, individuals advised they lived there, deputies unable to speak to family members of deceased, male subject walking in woods and up to house detained. Due to subject’s level of intoxication and trespassing on property, Curtis Peek arrested for public intoxication.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Williams, abandoned child, Lake Holbrook; caller located juvenile, did not know where parents’ location, juvenile’s sister said she told her brother to get out of water but he refused. Deputies unable to contact juvenile’s parents, CPS contacted.

Deputy Rich, disturbance, Franklin County. Franklin County advised juvenile pointed firearm near his mother, contact made at residence, advised incident happened several days prior, CPS contacted, offense report completed.

June 16

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Whisenhunt, dangerous dog, CR 3810, deputies responded to location previously over same dog, dog owner issued citation and dangerous dog notification. 

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Croney, disturbance, FM 69; when caller arrived at residence to pick up son, he became irate, shoved her off porch, prevented her from calling 911, prior to deputy’s arrival, subject fled into woods, located subject after short search, detained for assault family violence, CPS contacted, advised subject needed to be taken for evaluation.

Deputy Rich, theft; caller went to property, could not locate blower in barn, will call back, provide serial number, offense report completed.

June 17

Cpl. Rapp, Deputy Nichols, terroristic threat, CR 4579; victim advised suspect pointed firearm at him, made threats. Jason Anders arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

Deputy Skinner, physical disturbance, CR 4400; victim advised she had been assaulted but suspect was taking her back to residence out of county, deputies unable to contact victim after she hung up with dispatch.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Comeaux, missing person; caller advised son got into argument, left property. Due to past mental concerns, caller worried about welfare of son, deputies contacted subject at different address, father came to residence, picked him up.

June 18

Deputy Nichols, Deputy McGee, suspicious person, Holiday Village; neighbor attempting to get into residence had altered state of mind, deputies issued criminal trespass warning, transported by EMS to receive treatment.

Deputy Comeaux, stolen gun, CR 1686; caller purchased gun, check with Alba PD showed it stolen, deputy retrieved firearm.

Cpl. Rapp, theft, FM 1799; during weekend someone stole multiple items from storage building.

Sgt. Williams, assault; victim advised husband assaulted her previously, worried he might again, offense report completed.

Chief Turner, Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Way, stolen ambulance, Quitman PD; patient at ER stole ambulance, left hospital, deputies stopped subject, transported to jail for Quitman PD.

Deputies, disturbance, Lake Holbrook; victim advised juvenile assaulted him, deputies located juvenile, transported to speak with juvenile probation.
