July 3

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft; caller advised sometime during night someone stole  firearm from vehicle, offense report completed.

Deputy Pollard, theft, CR 4505; during night someone entered shop, stole ATV, entered as stolen.

Sgt. Williams, traffic stop, Quitman; observed vehicle fail to stop at stop sign, observed odor of alcoholic beverage from vehicle, driver Aaron Huddleston showed multiple signs of intoxication during field sobriety test, placed in custody.

July 4

Deputy Whisenhunt, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, vehicle broken down on side of road, drove by this evening, vehicle gone, victim called multiple tow companies, advised they did not pick up vehicle, offense report completed.

Deputy Pollard observed horse out, CR 4940; while attempting to contact horse owner at residence, deputy believed someone in residence to be deceased, upon entry into residence, owner located deceased, family contacted.

Deputy Williams, shots fired, boat ramp, Lake Hawkins; caller advised someone pulled gun on him after they cut each other off at boat ramp, suspect left prior to deputies’ arrival.

July 5

Sgt. Cox, Deputy Skinner, civil standby; caller advised sister wanted her to pick her up from residence, deputy made contact with subject who changed story multiple times, made suicidal comments, subject transported to receive treatment.

Cpl. Rapp, assault, FM 1799; caller advised son assaulted his wife after taking narcotics, deputies unable to contact suspect, warrant filed for assault-continuous due to suspect being arrested for assault within last year.

Sgt. Cox, suspicious circumstance, FM 17; caller house sitting, checked residence, rear door left open, deputies cleared residence, did not observe anything missing. 

July 6

Sgt. Cox, theft, FM 2869; during night, 18-wheeler entered business, left with trailer full of bottled water, employee provided trailer license plate, VIN, entered as stolen.

Deputy Smith, Deputy Way, disturbance, CR 3859; caller allowed male to stay at residence to help him out, subject had drinking problem, argument ensued that became physical, caller did not wish to pursue charges, suspect transported to receive treatment.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Haley, shots fired, Hwy. 37; vehicle drove by house, two rounds shot off from vehicle, deputies attempted contact possible suspect at residence unsuccessfully, offense report completed.

Cpl. Burdick, Deputy Haley, missing elderly, Yantis; prior to deputies’ arrival, family advised missing person returned to residence, but still needed deputy due to mental status of subject. When Cpl. Burdick entered residence to check on subject, he became upset, struck Cpl. Burdick in face, subject detained, transported by EMS.

Deputy Smith, Deputy Way, disturbance, Hawkins; victim’s aunt attempted to stab her with scissors. Ashely Thompson arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon.

Deputy Comeaux, suspicious person, Hwy. 154; deputy located subject, Thomas Ogletree, found to have active warrant, placed in custody.

July 7

Update on previous case; 18-wheeler trailer located in Shreveport that had been stolen from Hawkins, trailer was full of water bottles when it was stolen but was located empty.

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Rapp, lake patrol; while deputies speaking with subject, he attempted to take meth. Austin Brown arrested for public intoxication.

Sgt. Mayer, Deputy Comeaux, disturbance, CR 4430; subject became upset with victim when she asked him to move out, threw vase across room, struck victim twice with fist. Jeffery Salisbury placed in custody for assault.

July 8 

Deputy Whisenhunt, overdose, CR 2153; caller’s friend got into argument with male who pointed firearm at his head, when suspect learned law enforcement was called, took unknown substance, became unresponsive. Deputies administered Narcan which was successful in making male responsive again, transported by EMS to ER where he fled hospital due to being wanted. Deputies located subject, Brandon White, placed in custody for active warrant.

Deputy Rich, suspicious vehicle, CR 3270; vehicle drove off into front yard, driver was gone, deputy contacted vehicle owner who advised he was attempting to go around downed tree, got stuck.

Sgt. Morrison, vehicle accident, CR 2330; vehicle ran off road, hit tree, deputy remained on scene until trooper arrived, took over investigation.

July 9

Sgt. Morrison, Cpl. Croney, disturbance, Private Road 7477; male subject advised nothing physical took place, caller advised she locked herself in room due to being scared of son who was banging on door, making threats. Joe Echols arrested for assault by threat.

Cpl. Croney, debit card abuse; caller stated someone made multiple fraudulent charges to account, totaled large amount of money, provided several possible suspects, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, agency assist, Quitman; Hopkins County advised female with warrant at business in Quitman, deputies located suspect, Laura Williams, placed in custody for active warrant, transported to Hopkins County line.

Sgt. Williams, Deputy Rich, suspicious person, FM 2869, deputies made contact with driver of truck involved in previous case of stolen trailer from business, added to previous report.
