July 24

Sgt. Cox, theft, Private Road 8873; victim gave subject permission to use truck, will not return it, advised is civil issue.

Deputy Way, assault; several nights ago victim assaulted by husband, offense report completed.

Cpl. Rapp, Deputy Nichols, Lake Holbrook point area; two subjects staying in tent for more than allowed 10 days, subjects advised vehicle broken down, need part to fix it, given date when they must be out.

July 25 

Sgt. Cox, motorist assist, Hwy. 37; driver, Dakota McClenny, found to have active warrant, placed in custody. 

Cpl. Rapp, welfare concern; nurse at hospital received call from male who made suicidal statement, subject advised he needed treatment, transported.

Deputy Smith, Deputy Haley, reckless driver, CR 2540; driver advised she was going to pick someone up, field sobriety tests completed, Kendra Washington found to be intoxicated, arrested for DWI.

Deputy Way, criminal trespass, FM 17; subjects were not at address, victim advised they left due to suspect coming into residence uninvited, deputies located suspect, Ronnie Douthit, walking down road, placed in custody for criminal trespass of habitation.

July 26 

Deputy Pollard, burglary, Hwy. 37; caller observed two doors to church open, one had damage, multiple items missing, list will be provided.

Sgt. Morrison, warrant service, Adult Probation. Marshall Freeman arrested for active warrant.

Cpl. Croney, warrant service, Adult Probation. Joshua Lindley arrested for active warrant.

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft; firearm missing from caller’s residence for two weeks, provided serial number, entered as stolen.

Deputy Williams, burglary, FM 515; someone broke into victim’s shop, stole multiple items, will provide list of missing items.

Deputy Williams, burglary, FM 49; caller observed three males taking items from residence, took off when she pulled into driveway, list of missing items will be provided.

Deputy Williams, theft, CR 2250; someone stole victim’s truck with firearm inside, both entered as stolen.

July 27 

Deputy Pollard, theft; two rings missing from residence, caller’s daughter visited two weeks ago, when she left, rings were gone, suspect denied taking them.

Cpl. Croney, theft, Holiday Village; victim had friend helping clean out closet, firearm missing, offense report completed.

Sgt. Morrison, Deputy Pollard, disturbance, CR 1558; observed male being held to the ground, victim advised male became aggressive, retrieved screwdriver from vehicle, tried to use as weapon, victim and several witnesses took suspect to the ground, kept detained, suspect and victim received injuries from altercation. Christopher Kernan arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon and active warrant.

Deputy Haley, security checks, FM 14; observed storage unit door latch cut, checked other units, multiple locks removed, message left with management to contact Sheriff’s Office.

July 28

Sgt. Morrison, located stolen vehicle; Ford advised location of reported stolen vehicle, observed vehicle behind abandoned building, had wheels removed, stolen firearm previously in vehicle not located. 

Deputy Haley, physical disturbance, Hawkins; two residents involved in disturbance, suspect issued citation for assault, victim transported by EMS to receive treatment.

Deputy Comeaux, suicidal subject, Alba; caller advised daughter received suicidal messages from male, males’ parents advised they would transport to receive treatment.

Deputy Haley, suspicious circumstance, CR 2700; caller’s son received movement notification on game camera, observed male covering camera with hand, area searched, no signs of damage observed. 

July 29

Cpl. Burdick, illegal burning, CR 2146; neighbor burning copper wire, deputies observed fire but no wire to have been burned.

Deputy Williams, disturbance; juvenile assaulted aunt, Juvenile Probation requested deputies transported juvenile. 

July 30

Deputy Skinner, assault, violation of protection order, Hwy. 154; male assaulted victim, violated protection order, left prior to deputies’ arrival, case forwarded to investigations.

Sgt. Cox, vehicle fire, Hwy. 154; driver advised he had blowout, when he pulled over, vehicle caught fire.

Deputy Williams, agency assist; Smith County advised possible location of missing juvenile, deputy located juvenile, transported so parents could pick her up.
