Jan. 28

Deputy Smith, theft, FM 2088. Subject said someone stole lawn mower overnight. Offense report completed. 

Request to speak by phone. Caller of previously-reported missing person calling for update; deputies applied for silver alert, granted. 

Deputy Way, disturbance, Holiday Village. Subject said dog bit someone riding motorcycle nearby, disturbance ensued. Subject wished driver to be trespassed from property. 

Jan. 29

Deputy Whisenhunt, animal bite, Quitman ER. Subject let stray cat in house; accidentally stepped on tail, causing it to bite. 

Lt. Morrison, Sgt. Rich, follow-up re: missing person. Contact made with subject matching truck description of missing person, but they said they had not seen her. Property line where subject often walks also checked with no luck. 

Deputy Beck, Deputy Gloar, Deputy Vanatta, suspicious circumstance, Yantis. Caller said male at her door attempting to break in; contact made with subject, who said he was attempting to get money for work done. Subject said would call back next day. 

Jan. 30

Deputy Knox, Deputy Swann, reckless driver, Alba. Traffic stop conducted; driver said juvenile son is bipolar, and when he found out they weren’t going to a store, he became upset and hit her. Victim did not wish to pursue charges. 

Lt. Kovic, Sgt. Skinner, Deputy Tustin, terroristic threat, Hawkins. Victim said student telling her that he had gun, would harm her, others. Deputies located suspect, taken to Sheriff’s Office. Juvenile Probation contacted; case will be referred. 

Shots fired, CR 2745. Subject said wife called him, saying two males on property. Caller, son located males walking down road, physical disturbance ensued. During altercation, caller fired warning shot; one suspect struck caller’s vehicle, attempted to strike him. Cody Critz, Daniel Critz arrested for aggravated assault with deadly weapon, assault. 

Jan. 31

Deputy Knox, Deputy Swann, suspicious person, CR 2745. Caller said after two subjects arrested previous night (see previous entry), two more subjects riding near property in morning. Deputies attempted to locate subjects, no one at residence. 

Stolen vehicle, Hwy. 37. Mineola PD said stolen vehicle left Mineola, enroute to motel near Quitman. Deputies located stolen vehicle. Mysti Mitchell arrested for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

Feb. 1

Deputy Knox, suspicious circumstance. Someone on Marketplace selling Gator vehicle, situation seemed suspicious. Property owner said he does not live there, no one should be on property/selling items, but that attempted seller came onto property previously asking if he needed help for Gator. 

Deputy Knox, follow-up. Subject from previous call called back, said someone cut lock to property, items missing. Property owner will provide list of missing items, offense report will be completed. 

Feb. 2

Sgt. Williams, theft report. Subject said someone stole large amount of drilling pipe off property. Possible suspect provided, offense report completed. 

Deputy Smith, Deputy Holland, theft, Hwy. 80. Subject said someone stole several sets of wheels off vehicles. Nearby business will check security footage for possible suspect. Offense report completed. 

Deputy Beck, Deputy Vanatta, disturbance. After investigation, Keandre Dews arrested for assault family violence. 

Feb. 3

Deputy McGee, adult probation. Joseph Edwards arrested for falsification of a drug test. 

Deputy Whisenhunt, theft report. Subject said sent roofing contractor full payment for job, but only half of work done. Offense report completed. 

Sgt. Rich, Deputy Way, Deputy Beck, disturbance, CR 2117. During investigation, deputies determined Paul Crowley assaulted neighbor, arrested for assault. 

Sgt. Rich, Deputy Way, Deputy Vanatta, warrant service. Walynn Moncasco arrested on active warrant.
