Wood County Sheriff’s Report
June 3
Lt Morrison took a request to speak by phone. The caller advised her husband had a protective order in place against her and he reached out to her. A warrant was issued for the suspect.
Deputies responded to a disturbance on Hwy 154. After further investigation, Bryan Strother was arrested for assault-family violence and interference with an emergency call.
June 4
Deputy Nichols took an assault report by phone. The caller advised she had been assaulted by her boyfriend and he did choke her. An offense report was completed.
Sgt Rich, Deputy Vanatta and Deputy Nichols responded to a stranded boat on the Sabine River. Deputies assisted until a game warden boat could respond to retrieve the subjects.
Sgt Williams and Deputy Holland performed a warrant service at the Sheriff’s Office. Kristen Sitar was arrested on an active warrant.
June 5
Deputy McGee performed a warrant service at Adult Probation. Trena Gonzales was arrested on an active warrant and for falsification of a drug test.
Deputy Way took a violation of a court order by phone. The caller advised her husband has continued to contact her after previously violating the order. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Way took a violation of a court order by phone. The caller stated she received a call during the night and recognized the voice to be her husband. An offense report was completed.
Deputies performed a warrant service on County Road 2770. Robert Saucedo was arrested on an active warrant.
June 6
Deputy George responded to two dogs attacking people in Hawkins. Upon arrival, deputies observed one of the dogs attack the other. Both dogs were transported to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy George took a dog bite report at the Quitman ER. The victim was a small child who was bitten on the ear. The dog owner advised he would take the dog to the vet on Monday.
June 7
Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to a verbal disturbance in Holiday Village. After speaking with the wife further, it was determined the husband pushed the wife down causing her pain. Jerry Joshua was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputies assisted Winnsboro PD with locating a wanted subject. Winnsboro PD received a hit on the vehicle and was attempting to relocate it. Deputies later located the vehicle and Matthew Perkins was arrested on an active warrant.
June 8
Sgt Williams and Deputy Gloar responded to an assault on County Road 3145. The parents advised they had been having issues with their juvenile daughter and it escalated into a physical altercation. The juvenile was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a theft in Hawkins. The victim advised someone jumped the fence to his property and stole his vehicle, then used the vehicle to ram the fence. The vehicle was entered as stolen.
Deputy Whisenhunt took a burglary report by phone. The caller advised his storage unit was broken into and multiple items were missing. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Hammon took a theft report by phone. The caller stated someone had permission to drive their vehicle and was later arrested. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Vanatta and Deputy Nichols performed a warrant service on Hwy 80. Amy Duroux was arrested on an active warrant.
June 9
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a theft on County Road 3204. The victim advised someone stole a lawn mower from his property. The mower was entered as stolen.
Sgt Williams performed a warrant service at Adult Probation. Claude Vaughn was arrested on an active warrant.
Deputy Vanatta responded to a violation of a protective order in Holly Lake Ranch. The suspect contacted a protected person and showed up at the residence of another protected person. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Gloar responded to an assault on County Road 1859. Photos of the injuries were taken and a report was completed.
