Aug. 19
Deputies performed a warrant service on County Road 2445. Jonathan Mitchell was arrested on multiple active warrants. He was also arrested on an evading arrest warrant from the previous week.
Deputy Knox took an animal bite report at the Quitman ER. The victim advised he went to his uncle’s house and got into a verbal argument. A roommate had two dogs that attacked the victim. The roommate failed to retrieve the dogs and stop the attack. The case will be forwarded for further review.
Deputy Haney and Deputy Netherland responded to a disturbance on County Road 1903. After further investigation, it was determined no offense occurred. One subject was issued a trespass warning from the property.
Aug. 20
Deputy Way and Deputy Neely responded to a welfare concern in Yantis. The caller advised she had not heard from her brother in several days. Upon arrival, deputies located the subject deceased in the residence.
Deputy Way and Deputy Neely responded to a theft on Hwy 69. The store employee advised someone filled a vehicle with gas and left without paying. An offense report was completed.
Deputies responded to a criminal mischief in Yantis. The caller advised a subject was observed damaging property and fled the scene. Deputies located the suspect and he was taken into custody for criminal mischief.
Aug. 21
Sgt Williams and Deputy Hammond responded to a verbal disturbance on FM 312. The caller advised her daughter and her boyfriend got into a verbal altercation and she was going to call law enforcement. Both subjects fled the scene and were later located by deputies. Ethan Soto was arrested for interference with an emergency call.
Deputies responded to an indecency with a child. A male subject was arrested and investigations was notified.
Aug. 22
Deputies assisted Big Sandy PD with a hit-and-run that fled toward Wood County. Deputies located the suspect vehicle, but the suspect fled before deputies arrived. The vehicle was impounded.
Deputies responded to a disturbance on FM 1801. The caller advised her son pushed her to the ground. After further investigation, Dolton Netherland was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputy Vanatta located a suspicious vehicle at Lake Holbrook. Contact was made with the owner, who became confrontational and was intoxicated. Juan Martinez was arrested for public intoxication.
Sgt Rich responded to a suspicious person in Hawkins. The caller advised a male subject was attempting to get into a store. Clay Hilton was arrested for DWI.
Aug. 23
Sgt Williams and Deputy Hammond responded to a disturbance on County Road 4583. Upon arrival, deputies located a female subject walking down the roadway. The female advised she and her boyfriend got into an argument and he assaulted her. Her story changed multiple times while speaking with deputies. Contact was made with the male subject, who advised the female assaulted him several times. Leah Davis was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a stolen vehicle on County Road 3482. The caller advised her vehicle was gone when she woke up that morning. The caller was informed her vehicle had been towed during a call the previous night while a male subject was driving it. The caller advised she did not give the subject permission to use her vehicle. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Vanatta responded to a violation of a court order on FM 69. Deputies located Freddy Rodriguez, who was arrested for repeated violation of a court order.
Deputy Vanatta responded to the Quitman ER for a suicidal subject. Quitman PD advised someone brought narcotics to a patient, but they were confiscated. The patient then attempted self-harm while in the hospital. An EDW was completed.
Aug. 24
Cpt Milbourn and Lt Morrison responded to a missing juvenile. The juvenile was entered as missing.
Deputies responded to a disturbance on Hwy 80. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with all parties and an aggressor could not be determined. The parties were separated for the night.
Deputies responded to a suspicious circumstance on County Road 3234. The caller advised he located a possible grenade on his property. After further investigation, it was determined to be a live grenade. The Tyler Bomb Squad was contacted to remove the item.
Deputies located the missing juvenile from a previous call. The juvenile was returned home and a male subject was arrested.
Aug. 25
Deputy Way and Deputy McGee responded to a disturbance on Private Road 5474. Enrique Montoya was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputy Swann and Deputy Neely responded to a disturbance on FM 312. Upon arrival, the suspect admitted to striking his uncle’s truck with multiple objects, causing extensive damage. William Merchant was arrested for criminal mischief.
Deputy Way took a theft report by phone. The caller advised he had a diamond necklace in his truck when it was towed, and when he got the vehicle back, the necklace was missing. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Williams, Deputy Haney and Deputy Netherland responded to a public intoxication call on County Road 3859. While en route, deputies observed a male subject sitting in the roadway. Matthew Neely was arrested for public intoxication.
