Aug. 26
Sgt Williams and Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a disturbance in Hawkins. The caller advised she got into an argument with her boyfriend and he scratched her with keys. The caller did not wish to pursue charges and the parties were separated.
Aug. 27
Deputy Hammond took a fraud report by phone. The caller advised her ex-husband used her Social Security number to open an account. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Whisenhunt took a theft report by phone. The victim advised his ex-girlfriend stole money from his bank account. An offense report was completed.
Deputies responded to a deadly conduct call in Holiday Village. The caller advised two males in a vehicle stopped and pointed a firearm at her. Deputies located the suspect vehicle and two juveniles were arrested for deadly conduct.
Aug. 28
Deputy Way took a theft report by phone. The caller advised he had a golf bag with clubs in the back of his truck. The caller made several stops and later discovered the golf bag and clubs were missing. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Swann took a theft report by phone. The caller advised she was dating a man and discovered he was still married. Over the weekend, the caller discovered multiple items missing from her residence. A report will be completed upon receipt of a list of missing items.
Deputies performed a warrant service on Hwy 37. Sandra Grady was arrested on an active warrant.
Deputies performed a warrant service in Quitman. Tavaris King was arrested on an active warrant.
Aug. 29
Deputies responded to a disturbance on Hwy 37. After further investigation, Kevin Dunn was arrested for assault-family violence and criminal mischief.
Deputy Swann responded to a dog bite on County Road 3440. The victim advised he was jogging when a dog ran from a porch and bit him. Contact was made with a family member of the dog owner, who advised the owner was out of town for the weekend. Vaccination records will be provided.
Deputies responded to a disturbance at the Quitman ER. Kristen Rushing was arrested for assault of hospital personnel.
Sgt Williams, Deputy Haney and Deputy Swann responded to a disturbance on FM 515. After further investigation, Lacy Neal was arrested for assault-family violence.
Aug. 30
Sgt Cox and Deputy Way responded to an elderly female in the roadway on County Road 3854. Upon arrival, deputies located the female in a wooded area. Deputies discovered she had been diagnosed with dementia. EMS checked the patient and she was taken home by a neighbor.
Deputy Swann responded to a suspicious circumstance on FM 312. Upon arrival, Deputy Swann made contact with a female subject who was requesting a ride. Before completing the transport, a crystal-like substance was located on the subject. Kristina Sheppard was arrested for possession of a controlled substance.
Deputy Haney took a criminal mischief report by phone. The caller advised he was selling his vehicle and three subjects arrived to test drive it. When the subjects returned, they claimed the vehicle had mechanical issues and attempted to purchase it for less. The caller believed the subjects intentionally damaged the vehicle. A report was completed.
Aug. 31
Sgt Williams, Deputy Hammond and Deputy Nichols responded to a disturbance on County Road 4896. The victim advised her son assaulted her and her other son. Christopher Arteaga was arrested for assault-family violence.
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a theft on County Road 3860. The caller advised she observed a vehicle pull into her driveway and someone take a tote of copper from the property. The caller provided information about the suspect vehicle and advised the suspect is known for copper theft. An offense report was completed.
Deputy Nichols took a theft report by phone. The caller advised a firearm was stolen from his residence but he could not provide identifying information.
Sept. 1
Deputy Vanatta responded to a welfare check on FM 1801. Gilmer PD advised they had a missing juvenile who could possibly be at the location. Contact was made with the occupants, who provided a possible location for the juvenile.
Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a suspicious circumstance on Hwy 80. The caller advised there was a child bassinet in the roadway and believed it was suspicious. No suspicious activity was found.
Sgt Williams took a request to speak by phone. The caller advised a male subject was showing up at her address and harassing her. The caller was advised to call back when the subject was on the property.
