Sept. 2
Deputy Way responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 515. Upon arrival, Deputy Way located a motorcycle with no license plate. Attempts were made to contact the new owner with no response. Deputy Knox and Deputy Netherland responded to an animal bite at the Quitman ER. Information was forwarded to animal control. Deputy Haney responded to the Quitman ER for an animal bite. Information was forwarded to animal control.
Sept. 3
Sgt Cox assisted at Adult Probation. EMS advised there was a male subject who was suicidal. The subject was transported by EMS to receive treatment. Deputy Knox and Deputy Netherland responded to a welfare check on Private Road 5883. The caller advised there were two children on the property unsupervised. Contact was made with the children’s family and deputies ensured the children were being cared for. Sgt Williams and Deputy Haney responded to a disturbance in Hawkins. Brandon Cheatham was arrested on an active warrant. Deputy Knox and Deputy Netherland responded to a disturbance on County Road 2954. After further investigation, it was determined the female became irate after she was not allowed to retrieve one of her children, whom she did not have custody of. No parties wished to pursue charges.
Sept. 4
Deputy Hammond responded to an unwanted person on County Road 3148. The caller advised she was renting a property to a person who had someone else living there whom she did not want on the property. The caller was informed of the eviction process. Sgt Williams and Deputy Hammond assisted the U.S. Marshals in Mineola with a warrant service. The subject was arrested. Sgt Rich responded to an intoxicated subject on FM 49. The caller advised an intoxicated male subject got into multiple arguments and fell down. The subject was transported by EMS to receive treatment.
Sept. 5
Sgt Williams and Deputy Whisenhunt responded to a missing juvenile. The caller advised he and his daughter were working outside when he heard his truck start and drive away. A regional BOLO was issued in an attempt to locate the juvenile and the truck was reported stolen. Deputy Hammond responded to a theft. After further investigation, the suspect admitted to stealing a pistol from a family member. Kaiden Alberty was arrested for theft and possession of a controlled substance. Deputy Vanatta responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2966. The caller advised there was a vehicle parked in front of her gate. Upon arrival, contact was made with the driver, who was found to be intoxicated. The subject was arrested for DUI minor.
Sept. 6
Deputy Whisenhunt took a theft report by phone. The caller advised he arrived at his property and discovered someone had broken into a storage container and stolen multiple items. A list of missing items was provided and an offense report was completed. Deputy Vanatta and Deputy Nichols responded to a disturbance on Private Road 6631. Ivy Jones was arrested for DWLI. Deputies performed a warrant service on County Road 1917. Jonathan Swilling was arrested on an active warrant.
Sept. 7
Deputy George located an abandoned vehicle on Hwy 69. Due to a window not being secured, the vehicle was towed to prevent theft. A runaway juvenile from a previous case was located by New Boston PD and returned to the parents. Deputy Knox and Deputy Netherland responded to a theft on Hwy 11. The victim advised she discovered she had left her purse at a store. When she returned and reviewed camera footage, another customer was observed taking the purse. An offense report was completed. Sgt Williams and Deputy Haney responded to a possible burglary on FM 515. Upon arrival, deputies observed the front door of the residence had been kicked in. Contact was made with the homeowner and a report will be completed upon receipt of a list of missing items. Deputies performed a warrant service on FM 2869. Rickiey McNiel was arrested on active warrants.
Sept. 8
Sgt Cox responded to a burglary on County Road 1558. The victim advised he had been at his unit the previous day and everything was fine. When he returned, he discovered the unit had been broken into and items were missing. The victim had not provided a list of missing items at the time of the report. Sgt Cox responded to a death investigation. The caller advised he located his elderly wife deceased. The caller advised his wife had a history of medical issues. Sgt Williams and Deputy Haney responded to an overdose. Upon arrival, deputies located an unresponsive male with narcotics near him. Deputies were able to get the subject conscious before he was transported by EMS to receive treatment.
