Commissioners accept WCEDC director’s resignation
Wood County commissioners accepted the resignation of Wood County Economic Development Commission Executive Director Christophe Trahan at Tuesday morning’s meeting.
Trahan has accepted a position as the executive Director of the City of Palestine Economic Development Corporation. Trahan had been on the job almost two years. He had replaced Roger Johnson who held the position for a short time.
Other personnel action includes Billy Hill resigning as a road tech in Precinct 1, Dalton Hendrix hired as a cook in the Wood County Jail and Sharla Price resigned as a jailer.
Commissioners approved a resolution authorizing professional service providers for the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) program. DRG Architects has been selected to provide professional engineering services for the ARP program.
Environmental Officer Lee Whisenhunt gave a detailed report for October which was approved.
Commissioners approved a resolution adopting a revised Wood County Hazard Mitigation Action Plan. The action plan includes being prepared to mitigate losses due to potential damages to people and property when subjected to periodic flooding and other natural and man-caused hazards.
Plans must be revised every five years, and the previous plan had been adopted in 2009. This current resolution adopts a revised plan for 2022 and it is updated in accordance to FEMA guidelines.
The next scheduled meeting will be Nov. 29 at 9 a.m.
